Jason and I could not think of a better way to spend his birthday than with Grace and Jon. They had planned to take us about 40 miles outside of Asheville to Max Patch, which is a clearing on top of a mountain with 360 degree mountain views. We packed a picnic and I took my camera bag up for amazing photos, only to find out I forgot my camera card! Instagram came to the rescue.
It was so desolate up there that we were able to spread out a picnic blanket and pop some champagne and lie on our backs for a while. I even peed in the woods. I don't why that's so fun, but it is.
That night, we visited Plant for a decadent birthday dinner and headed to The Wedge Brewery to taste, according to our server at Plant, "the best IPA ever." Jason didn't agree. He thought it was good, but Aviator is better. We also went back to Plant the next morning for brunch before heading home. It's my favorite restaurant in North Carolina.
We just wrapped up our last week of school, hence my absence from the blog. But, I have lots of summer plans that I can't wait to share with you.
Happy Weekend!
