Things I enjoyed about camping this weekend:
1. The weather was gorgeous! The temperature was crisp like the fall.
2. Could the people we went with be more amazing? No, it's impossible.

3. Snuggling in a little bitty tent with my mountain man. Enough said.

4. I could seriously sit by a campfire all day long. It was cozy and the conversation flowed. You also learn lots of things, such as Cheetos are flammable.

5. Eating vegan while camping is no big deal. I even turned a couple of people on to Tofurkey dogs.

6. Learning how to make the perfect doughboy takes experience. We were newbies this year, but hopefully, we'll get better with time.

Things I Did Not Enjoy About Camping This Weekend:
1. Public showers. I can do the toilets, but the showers? Whoa. I'm a one night camping kind of girl.
2. Having to walk in the cold in the early hours of the morning to pee. Then being so awake from the cold, I couldn't go back to sleep.
3. Bugs
4. Realizing the rain fly for our tent was actually stuck to the bottom of our tent the whole time.
So, I sort of crossed off #12. Sort of.
i am with you on the not enjoyable things about camping. My husband is going with the kids this weekend to Fredericksburg for the Boys Scout camp.
ReplyDeletemmmm doughboys! I haven't had those in forever! I'm definitely bringing those back while camping this year :)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are great but you also just stated all the reasons I don't enjoy camping and thus I don't camp anymore. My inlaws have tried to convince us that we would enjoy a camper...maybe they don't know us.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good experience camping...sorta. :-)) I never enjoyed it...NEVER! And I went more than once, to avoid that comment: "You went just enough to hate it! You have to go more than once!"...I went 3 different times, different places, with different exposure to things each time...Uh....HATE IT!!! LOL
ReplyDeletehaha, I guess I'm not in the majority of those who hate camping....My family loves it. I loved reading this. It was very entertaining and opened up my eyes to vegan camping also. I did a 30 before 30 list on my blog too and one of mine is to go vegetarian for one week....Maybe just maybe I can conquer that. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip! I love a good campfire!! My parents used to drag us camping in the mountains of NC and the beaches of SC. I much prefer the mountains!!
ReplyDeleteI never have gone camping, i will love to do it sometime..
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the one-night thing! And those kabobs look delish!
